8 Ideas For Family Fun in the Snow

Whether we like it or notice will gradually fall.

It always sounds hard to find out in the chilly with young children. This year it is really hard with our toddlers, but the boys still are going to want to get out there and play in the snow!

Since the sandbox is going to be covered... what will the kids do outside?

I've made a list 8 enjoyable outdoor snow activities that I want to do with the children this winter. Our winter/snow bucket listing, I figure.

Get dressed warm and get outside!

8 Fun Things to do in the Snow -- Outside!

  1. Go sledding! Get a sled, create a sled from cardboard, and just go!

  1. Construct a snowman. Roll some chunks, big or small. Find stones for eyestwigs for arms, and wrap up hot with a hat and scarf!

  1. Have a snowball fight! Show the children how to create a snowball. Have target practice. Set up something to throw at and let the kids get some practice in throwing!

  1. Build a snow blower. Pack the walls together to create a secure place for concealing! We have a brick mold builder (affiliate link) that the boys use from the sandbox and for the snow!

  1. As you're out shoveling the sidewalk or driveway, allow the kids help! Or have them create their own avenues... maybe a snow book!

  1. Stomp through the snow and make footprints!

  1. Rather than creating your own footprints, start looking for animal prints! Can you locate rabbit prints? Squirrels? Deer? Discover what is in your garden! Not sure? Take photos of the animal paths and look up them together later.

  1. Get creative out in the cold! Paint the snow! Make it vivid!

If you're getting outdoors in the cold weather, make certain to dress warm and take precautions!

And be ready to warm them up when you get inside! Take a cup of hot chocolate waiting for them with small marshmallows on top!
